Vintner’s Harvest, a nature-based artwork by Jude Grace made from gathered seed pods.

NATURE, MADE SYMBOLIC.

JUDE GRACE WORKS considers how meaning arises through lived experience, material form and our connection to the natural world.

Nature offers a way to contextualise our experiences. A falling leaf gives form to release. A withdrawing tide makes absence visible. A seed pod opening holds rupture as well as possibility. Bark from a tree is surrender as well as growth.

These are not simple metaphors imposed upon the natural world. They are processes through which experiences of grief, change and renewal can be located within something larger than ourselves.

Memory of place suspends these experiences between what has passed and what remains. Fragments gathered from a particular landscape carry the trace of an encounter, allowing something fleeting to be rearranged and made symbolic.

JUDE GRACE WORKS is a nature-based art practice shaped by immersion in the landscape, wandering, gathering and the memory of place.

Jude works with leaves, bark, seed pods, petals and organic fragments found within the landscape, composing them into abstract works that sit between design, documentation and material storytelling.
